Print a clean puzzle on A4, Letter or PDF
Keep the answer separate, avoid clipped grids and save a reusable PDF with the browser print dialog.
Generate before opening the print dialog
Adjust the title, words or difficulty, then select Generate puzzle. The preview and answer key update together. If settings have changed without being generated, the print button is disabled. This helps avoid printing an earlier puzzle while expecting the newly edited word list.
Use the Puzzle and Answer key tabs to check each page. The tab you are viewing does not determine which pages print: the print action always includes the question page, with an answer page when the separate-answer option is checked. Leave that option off when printing copies for participants.
Match the page size in both places
Choose A4 or US Letter in Panlore, then use the same paper size in your printer dialog. The print stylesheet requests portrait pages with 12 mm margins. A printer or browser can override these settings, so inspect the final print preview rather than assuming the on-screen sheet proves the output will fit.
Use the default scale first. If content is cut off, try the printer’s fit-to-page option and check the result. Very long titles, large custom word lists and printer-specific minimum margins can affect pagination. Shorten a title or use fewer words if the footer or word bank runs onto another page.
Remove browser furniture
Browsers can add their own date, web address and page number around a printed document. Turn off Headers and footers in the print dialog for a clean worksheet. You do not need background graphics to understand the puzzle: question grids use dark text, and answer keys use outlines or a dashed maze route.
Navigation, configuration controls and other website sections are hidden in the print layout. Preview the page count before confirming. A question and a separate answer should normally produce two pages at the default settings; extra pages are a signal to inspect scaling and margins.
Save a PDF you can identify later
To keep a digital copy, choose Save as PDF or your system’s PDF destination instead of a physical printer. This is a browser feature, so its exact name varies. Panlore does not upload the generated worksheet to create the PDF.
Use a filename that records the theme, difficulty and whether answers are included. Keep the puzzle code, exact word list and operation settings when you want to recreate the worksheet in the generator. Before sharing a PDF, open it once and make sure the answer sheet is included only when intended.
A two-file preparation check
Open a library resource, leave the answer option selected and save a facilitator PDF. Check that it contains a question page and an answer page. Then clear the option and save a participant PDF. Open that file separately and verify it contains only the question, even if the browser was previously showing the Answer key tab.
Use names such as space-facilitator-with-answers.pdf and space-participant.pdf. If either file has a blank or partial extra page, correct paper size and scaling before making a class set. Printer drivers can differ, so this check is still necessary after a successful on-screen preview.
